Our 4 star campsite in Gorges du Tarn enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the Aveyron department. This geographical position allows you to spread out and organise half day or full day trips.
You will discover in a radius of forty kilometres, most of the key tourist attractions in our region: Conques, Rodez and the Soulages Museum, the Aubrac mountains, the Gorges du Tarn, Millau and its Viaduct, the Lot valley, the lak of Lévézou…
The department of Aveyron has 10 villages classified amongst the most beautiful villages in France: Conques, Belcastel, Najac, Sauveterre-de-Rouergue, Estaing, St-Come d’Olt, Ste Eulalie d’Olt, Brousse-le-Chateau, Peyre and La Couvertoirade.
Our region is also conducive to the practice of outdoor activities for lovers of wide open spaces and sensations.
On earth … you can venture along the kilometres of marked hiking trails on foot, horseback, bicycle and on a quad.
On the water … you can practice lively water sports: canoeing, rafting, stand-up paddle boarding and canyoneering.
In the air … you can gain altitude and admire Aveyron from the air: paragliding, ULM, hot-air ballooning.
The gastronomy also plays an important role when visiting Aveyron, as much through its traditional recipes as through its top chefs including Michel Bras, renowned worldwide.
Aligot is THE specialty that you must absolutely taste during your stay in the department. This dish that is made with mashed potato and fresh tomme from Laguiole is served in many restaurants in Aveyron. The most typical way to taste it, is in a buron on the Aubrac plateau. Change of scenery ensured!
Among other specialties, do not miss out on tasting the farçous, the tripous, the gâteau à la broche, the fouace, rissoles with prunes … You will find most of these products at the producers markets or in the shops of the region. One thing is certain, you will not have enough time in one stay to discover the treasures of our beautiful department of Aveyron!
